Grandmother, gardener, artist, zine maker and calendar maker. My interests include nature and environmental concerns, history, folklore, world cultures, and art. I have two cats, one husband, two children and two grandsons (one age 8 years and the other 18!)
I prefer earth tones, especially various earthy greens and rust, muted pinks (not hot pink, though), and jewel tones like blue, purple and emerald.
I also like neutrals including black and white.
I'm not fond of neons or really bright colors, but if that's your thing, I'll be happy to see what you do with them.
I love working with paper, especially scraps, magazine and catalog images, book pages, maps, packaging with attractive designs and such.
I collage, draw, paint with watercolor and gouache, use rubber stamps, and often combine two or more of those mediums.
I sell zines at the Minnesota Center for Book Arts and through my website. I make ATCs that I trade with a small local group. But I also enjoy sending and receiving creative mail, which is why I came back to Swap-bot recently, after many years away. (I couldn't remember my old username and password, so I'm just starting over with this profile.)
What I like most with any mail is a personal note, if you are so inclined. Tell me about your process and/or thoughts about the item sent or the theme/prompt, or anything else about you that you'd like to share.
As for extras, a little ephemera from your stash is often fun, but not necessary or important. I like to include a thing or two when I mail stuff, so I understand the joy in doing that. But the swap item itself, made with care, is really all I look for.
