Send one ATC inspired by this swap’s theme to one partner.

📬 International

In this series we’re exploring a new art style / movement /artist in each swap.

🖌️ Please create one ATC for your partner in this swap’s style - or inspired by it. The medium and interpretation are sender’s choice. Sticker slapping or simply a print of that art style and nothing else is not enough. If it fits the style, shaping your ATC is welcomed (e.g. an arch for Art Nouveau) as long as the original ATC measurements are still present (there needs to be a 2.5 and a 3.5 width – just not as a rectangle).

🖌️ Please use a sturdy backing and write at least the swap name, your name/username, and the date on the back of the standard-sized (2.5 in x 3.5 in) ATC.

❤️ As the saying on swap-bot goes; please create something you would be happy to receive.

This swap’s theme is:

Impressionism

Impressionism is a 19th-century art movement that began in France, characterized by its focus on capturing the fleeting effects of light, atmosphere, and everyday life. Rather than striving for detailed realism, Impressionist painters used loose brushwork, vibrant colours, and innovative compositions to convey a sense of spontaneity and movement.

Key figures such as Claude Monet, Pierre-Auguste Renoir, Edgar Degas, and Camille Pissarro broke from traditional academic painting by working outdoors (en plein air) and painting contemporary scenes. Iconic works like Monet’s Impression, Sunrise (1872)—from which the movement gets its name—epitomize their interest in how light transforms landscapes, cityscapes, and moments in time.

Impressionism marked a pivotal shift toward modern art, emphasizing perception and individual experience over rigid formality.
